- The maxi dress makes a loud statement to begin with, so try not to over accessorize. A few simple pieces of Jewelry, and even a headband is definitely enough for this dress.
- Because the Maxi dress has such a spring and summer look to it you should stay away from closed toed shoes, instead stick to a basic pair of cute flip flops, some gladiator sandals, espadrilles, high-heeled sandals or a comfortable pair of wedges. No matter what shoes you wear make sure your Maxi dress is not dragging on the ground.
- If you are Petite you can still work the Maxi dress! Some simple things to look for if you are petite: Try to find a more form fitting Maxi dress, one that is simple and does not have a lot of ruffles and extra flowing materials. A dress that accentuates your waist will provide you with a longer leaner look.

Whether it’s floral, polka dots, or geometric shapes, bold prints are on everything from accessories to clothing for spring 2009 collections. Don’t be afraid to make a loud statement this season with a patterned ensemble.
Join the trend by introducing a patterned dress into your wardrobe. Invest in a staple piece that can be worn to several occasions throughout the spring and summer. From weddings to picnics in the park, a patterned dress can be transformed to suit several occasions.
Try choosing neutral accessories to either dress up or dress down your outfit. Add gold bangles, a neutral colored clutch and pair of heels for an evening out. For a more relaxed look, try wood bangles, a vintage purse and sandals.
